Mirrors   more
Expertly carved foliage along the sides and separating the upper and lower plates.  The form reflects the transition from the earlier Queen Anne design into the later Georgian mode.  Retaining the original plates.
An Italian monochrome mirror with highly carved floral, shell, and C-scroll motifs. The crest depicting a woven basket overflowing with trailing roses.
A large oval mirror with molded, gilded frame centered by a floral medallion.

A carved oak architectural element in the form of a winged lion. The carving executed with a deft crispness and good depth. Retaining a rich color and patina.
A round copper log bin of great size raised on iron feet and with iron handles. Could be used as a coffee table with a glass top.
A mahogany metamorphic armchair after a design by Marsh and Sanders. In place of the reeding that is often found on these chairs, this chair features ebonized banding inlay on the back, arms, legs and front seat rail. Retaining what is possibly the original textile upholstery on the back, seat, and step treads. Excellent color and patina.

An English needlework sampler featuring a large central Tree of Life flanked by Adam and Eve. Worked in 1806 by Margaret Thomson, age 13. In wonderfully well-preserved condition.
An English needlework sampler worked by Elizabeth Fairleim under the tutelage of dame Margaret Miller. In excellent condition.
A Persian Serapi (Heriz) in very good condition. With some spots of minor wear.

A pair of large and superb quality Spode fruit coolers raised on footed bases. The rich pink ground is decorated with floral gilding. Each cooler with a pair of gilded handles and the lids with braided and gilded handles. Each one retains the original liner which also has a band of pink and gilding. Marked on the underside “Spode 3971.”
A Wedgewood octagonal shaped dessert service with gilded rims and pale yellow ground surrounding portraits of different flowers including roses and irises. Comprised of twelve plates and six footed compotes (two taller, and four shorter).
A pair of Imari beaker vases. Restorations to one.

Fine English Rosewood and Brass Regency Period Ink Stand
A Japanese box in the form of a house with an arched roof. Marquetry veneered in a number of different woods. The body opens up to reveal a fitted interior above a lower drawer. Lacking one interior panel.
An inlaid puzzle box for cigars in the form of a book. The spine of the book slides and locks to reveal the keyhole.

A diorama of a clipper at sea. Constructed of metal and wood with string riggings. The backdrop painted with a cloudy sky and other ships in the distance. In a maple frame.
Follower of Paul Van Somer. Portrait of a Gentleman. Oil on Canvas. Dated 1627. In a period gilt gesso frame.

On the reverse is a hand-written attribution to Paul van Somer dated 1886. Since later scholarship has revealed that van Somer died in 1621, this attribution is most likely inaccurate.
A colorful folk art painting on paper dated 1836. Depicting flowers sprouting from an urn with a bird perched at the top.

A tall case clock by Edward Bertles, Liverpool. With a moonphase dial, sweep second hand and date hand. The swan neck pediment terminates in finely carved rosettes. The case veneered with mahogany ovals surrounded by satinwood.

A large Japanese kettle hook hewn from Asian elm.  Currently mounted on stand, stand not shown in picture. Late 19th Century.
A pair of mahogany brass-bound buckets, one for plates and one for peat.
A pair of brass coal scuttles on footed stands. The lids, which raise when the handles are lowered, are embossed with a stylized urn and floral motif.

A marble font with arched backsplat and shaped basin on a pedestal base. Possibly rossa verona.
